government
As stated before, the head of State is Pres. Tomislav Nikolić and the head of Government is PM Aleksandar Vučić. Also stated before, the capital is Belgrade. You also would probably want to know that Serbia is a republic and is divided into 29 districts. The major political parties are the center-left Democratic Party, the right-wing Democratic Party of Serbia, the far-right Serbian Radical Party, and the centrist Liberal Democratic Party.
economy
Serbia's economy is in transition, it is largely market oriented but has a significant state sector. Many large enterprises, including power utilities, telecommunications, and a national air carrier, remain in state control. The economy relies on manufacturing and exports, which are driven by foreign investment. Serbia doesn't exactly have the best history with economy. Serbia is actually a member of the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In 2010, Serbia received large loans from both Russia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to help sustain its economic viability. The total public debt then doubled between 2008 and 2012. After that the IMF voided its deal with Serbia in 2012 because the parliamentary budget was outside the agreement's parameters. In 2012, the country finally adopted a long-term economic plan that includes basic infrastructure changes and increasing exports over the next decade. So Serbia definitely doesn't have a very good economy. As I said before, Serbia relies heavily on exports. Their main produce exports are fruit, vegetables, wheat, corn, oats, and livestock. Their natural resource exports include lead, zinc, copper, and lignite. They also rely heavily on industry and have many textile, metal, and vehicle manufacturing plants in Serbia. Serbia's location also allows it to control one of the major land trade routes between western Europe and Turkey.
currency
Their currency is a Serbian dinar. In the US the Serbian dinar is equal to .0087 US dollars and a US dollar is equal to 114.33 Serbian dinars.
